ROSE WILSON

Most 'locals' will recognise the fascinating Rose, not only because of her accolades in the artistic field but also because of her gregarious and generous participation in our community.

Rose has achieved art prizes, commissions and extensive shows over the past 13 years covering Darwin, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne. Her recent achievement was being selected as a finalist in the 2012 Archibald Prize. This is her third year of entering the Archibald; her first entry was hung in the 2010 Salon des Refusés. She was also a finalist in the 2010 Doug Moran Portrait Prize. In 2012 Rose was an Archibald Prize finalist with her portrait of Dan Flynn. In 2013 Rose was a Black Swan Portrait Prize finalist.

Rose has supported Artists for Orphans Inc since our inception and we are incredibly proud to have Rose be an Ambassador for Artists for Orphans Inc.

MAUREEN ANDREW

Will Theatre-goers recognise Maureen out of costume? Perhaps you will recall seeing the effervescent Maureen Andrew in Phantom of the Opera, Hugh Jackman's Boy from Oz, Calender Girls, as Miss Lynch in Grease, Billy Elliot the Musical (Elton John, Lee Hall) and Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables. Just to name a few.

Then there is her Television career; Singing career; Opera, Jazz and Rock. There is just not enough space here to do Maureen's extensive and successful career justice.

And like Rose, Maureen is a generous soul who is delighted to help Artists for Orphans Inc and all the kids we support in Vietnam and we are very proud to have Maureen as an Ambassador.

FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

Roni's attention was drawn to the poor, sick and orphaned children of Vietnam and Cambodia through the Vietnam Veterans network. Her husband, Laurens is a Vietnam Veteran and both Roni and Laurens are acutely aware of the legacy of the Vietnam War - or as the Vietnamese call it - The American War. Many of the children at Go Vap Orphanage in Saigon and Thanh Xuan Peace Village in Hanoi for example, are testament to the ravages of Agent Orange. Many of the babies and children at these establishments are 3rd generation agent orange victims suffering from Hydrocephalus, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and so on. "Once you see these gorgeous kids, some of whom are terminally ill, you will do whatever you can to help them." Roni says. Some of the kids are simply victims of extreme poverty.

Roni has been a model in New Zealand, managed a modelling agency, worked at The Harbour Agency in Sydney in the 80s, worked at The Regent of Sydney in Public Relations, was P.A. to Kevin Weldon A.M. and assistant to the Mayor of the Gold Coast.

She has been a wild life carer on and off for over 12 years, volunteered at the Cancer Council, sold raffle tickets for tsunami victims, held a book sale to raise funds for the victims of the Vic. bush fires, dressed as a clown to entertain the kids after the fires, she was a community broadcaster for 4 years and President of Highlands FM for a time. Roni travelled to Vietnam and Cambodia at her own expense in Nov/Dec 2011 where she volunteered and/or visited approximately eight institutions. Roni is hands on. No cash is sent to any of the recipients. We go over there and oversee the purchase and/or installation of what is needed. "Working with these beautiful children is emotional but enormously rewarding. It's all I want to do now. "

ROS BRADBURY

Ros holds a Master of Special Education degree from Deakin University, a bachelor degree in Primary Education as well as a bachelor degree in Special Education, a Diploma of Primary Education along with a Graduate Diploma in Business Management and an Advanced Diploma of Management.

Ros was instrumental in establishing the first ‘Early Intervention Program’ for children with special needs in Bendigo in the early 1980’s, she later became the first Principal of the newly established ‘Bendigo Special Developmental School’. Ros has over 20 years experience in primary and special education.

In November/ December 2011, Ros travelled at her own expense to Vietnam with Roni to volunteer at various orphanages around Vietnam and help identify the most urgent needs.

Graduating as a Primary School teacher from the Bendigo College of Advanced Education, she soon became involved in Special Education. Her passion for supporting people in need led to her involvement with The Salvation Army (TSA) in Bendigo where she was actively involved in establishing a centralised service centre for all TSA services.

Ros was a Member of the National Management Group which established ‘The Salvation Army Employment Plus’ nationally when the Commonwealth Employment Service closed and Australian employment services first went to a national government tender process. The successful tender enabled TSA to secure and open 91 sites across Australia. Ros became Regional Manager of country Victoria for The Salvation Army Employment Plus.

Ros was one of the first 3 women to join Rotary International in Bendigo in 1991. She has been a Board Member and Director of various Rotary committees over many years, involved in local, national and international projects.

Ros has been a Board member of various Aged Care, Educational and Community organizations. She taught at Doxa School Bendigo supporting students to maintain their educational links and opportunities while providing specialized educational programs.

In 2009, Ros partnered with her husband, John in establishing a new business from a green field site. The Kyneton Toyota dealership opened in June 2009, and will relocate to a new purpose built facility constructed in 2012. Her current business development role involves strategic planning, human resource and marketing management combined with project management.

She has a strong interest in ethical decision making and has a genuine love and concern for the children.
